Summer Learning Journey 2017-2018 Day 3 Activity 2- Migration

Migration.
This activity is Day 3 of Week 4 and is activity 2. This activity involves migration. Migration, for example means: You migrate from a different country (say Germany) then if you want to, you can migrate to any country of the world. Although you can't migrate to the country you already live in!

My home town is Greymouth, on the West Coast.

It rains quite a bit! So if you were coming here even during summer, make sure you bring a raincoat!

The best thing about my town is that there are a lot of bike tracks for people to enjoy, just like me!

If you were thinking of coming to Greymouth, you have to visit:

  • A farm
  • Go to one of our beaches
  • And get wet!
Also in Greymouth there is a lot of places to go from as inland as the Otira Viaduct to the beautiful seaside coast as far north as Karamea and as far south as Haast.

  1. Hi Will

Welcome back to the SLJ. Great to see you have made it back from holiday!! Hope you have a fantastic time, I'm sure you did!

We are very lucky to live on the West Coast! Yes, it does rain quite a bit but I suppose that is what you get when you live in a rain forest!
Our surroundings wouldn't be as beautiful without all of the rain.
And you wouldn't be able to kayak in some of our amazing rivers without the rain fall either!!
Great aerial photo of Greymouth, its looking straight up the valley which is really neat. It was a good day on this day! No rain!!

Where is your favourite beach to go to on the West Coast?

You can probably guess that mine is Punakaiki! I love that you have the choice of the beach or the river to swim in out there.

Emiely is right I am very proud to see you back and getting on with the SLJ. I am not surprised that you started with the sport question either!!

Not long til the big game in Greymouth!! Who do you think is going to win??

Keep up the good work Will

    Until next time

    Allie :)

  2. Hi Mrs Costello
My favourite beach is my own beach! Well it is technically called Cameron's Beach but I like to think that it is mine!
    GO CRUSADERS!
