Week 7 Reflections

WALT use multiplication knowledge and ‘rounding and compensating’ to solve problems.
I learnt how to multiply tricky questions.

WALT: comprehend what we read by retelling the story
I learnt that not to waste water by feeding birds or other things.

We had a question 'Can you make electricity with water?'

Yes you can!!!

The resiervior into a intake that  goes to a pencock and then into a powerhouse where a turbine is powered by a genorator  and then into a river it is in a plant. As the turbine spins it turns a mental shaft connected to a eletric genorator electricity.

A hydroelectric dam

The water goes through a passageway and is directed to the turbine .Flowing water is used to power the turbine, the passageway is called a penstock. The penstock’s slope downwards and create flowing or falling water it is directed past the propellers of the turbine .The force of the flowing water turns the turbine which in turns the metal shaft in the electric genorator that produces electricity !!!
